 A round disc that bounces of ship parts . (#edit# or a laser that reflects of walls). Bouncing off stuff could get complicated but could be neat - like what if it hits something moving towards the shot really fast? But thats a lot of angles to calculate though. The problem with a bouncing l...

That looks awesome, MD, though I'm wondering how works exactly. If you are on the inside of the radius you get destroyed? Or is it a barrier that blocks shots and destroys you if you bump into it? Also, what happens when it gets scaled? I would prefer not to see a really large radious that covers th...

Re: More control options, plus fixes

You now have the option to aim with the mouse or keyboard (as well as previous controls) You cannot edit someone else's level anymore. You can now rate a level through the pause menu; at all times, not only when you defeat/lose a level, which means the unbeatable levels with infinite lives can actu...

You make some excellent points, Swartzer. The sweet spot is definately the bane of any level that aspires to be any good. Balanced weapons that cover all the arcs is always part of a good design. If I find that the core is the core is nearly dead by the time it has no weapons, I have no problem usin...

First of all I would like to recommend the AI Guide down in the Level Design forum: http://zetaflow.skylogic.ca/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=35 Basically, any joint will be a part a that you will need to specifiy to rotate in the ai commands. You can restrict the range and speed as you need to. If you find...

Here is another recent one thats pretty hard but good:

Simplier design and minimal but efficient weapons. This level by TestUser has inspired many level builders who came afterwards.

The only problem I would have with that is comically huge projectiles you can't dodge but thats the choice a level author should have I guess if projectile scaling is allowed.

Those are some very nice ones. Here are some that I have found: Jonah and the Whale by CitPrem: http://img357.imageshack.us/img357/4713/jonahandthewhalebycitprkm5.jpg Difficult but creative. I managed to beat this one but I'll let you all find out how for yourselves. Other levels by CitPrem can be f...

Posting screenshots of levels and linking them

To get a screenshot of your favorite level, just use printscreen and an image editor such as paint ( I use paint.net). After you crop out the unnecessary parts, be sure to title it and credit the author. Next you will need to upload it. I use imageshack but photobucket is another alternative - both ...

This is an excellent first topic for this section. As for the poll, I'm undecided. I think it is misleading to have the author rate their own creation (though as more people rate the level it will level out - assuming anyone can get to the end) but I will admit that I've thought twice about playing ...

I've noticed that when you access the editer from the main menu it is blank, but when you just played a level, then the level will be there. This feature is there to allow the author to make changes or for allowing others to learn. If you want to make a clean start, use the link in the main menu - t...

Thx MD. Though I do like the ability to examine how the great levels were created in order to learn, but the re-saving of someone else's level as your own just isn't right. Some kind of lock or protection would be very nice to protect the classics that have shown up here.

How about the ability to make your own parts? That might be a bit much but on the other hand it could be easy to implement.

- Multiple switch parts (all parts listed need to be destroyed to destroy targets) - Triggers (when part A is destroyed part B starts shooting/rotating) I too would very much like to see those features added. Keyboard aim and mouse move as an option would be great, too. There are a lot of levels no...
