"Unbeatable" levels, real or self proclaimed, are really annoying. I almost managed to run circles around a boss with 10+ ship following lasers but the controls aren't sensitive enough to not biff by gradual curve around the stupid thing. When it comes to levels with tons of weapons that a...

I played a really lame level with a ton ship following lasers mounted in the center of the boss earlier today. I almost survived to make a second loop around it but one of the lasers is offset just enough that I can't make it. >:(

Levels that claim to be unbeatable and levels that actually can't be beaten are annoying. Nothing can really be done about the former but I'm looking forward to a system that weeds out the unplayable levels, perhaps putting them into a seperate list or disallows ratings until it has been beaten . Pr...

Beaten level shows up as undefeated ...

I beat this level 3 times in a row and it still shows up as undefeated ... http://zetaflow.skylogic.ca/ZetaFlow.php?ID=3227 - that and I have the suspicion that he rated his level a 5 after I gave it half a star ... Despite being a noob level where they make it sound impossible, etc, for ego purpose...

You can almost survive by circling around the clock once the laser goes off but you run out of space at noon, lol.

Impressive work, Mouzi. I don't think I'd have ever figured that out on my own.

Placement is everything when it comes to weapons and thats an excellent observation, Zeke. I use that trick a lot to beat those static levels. In the Level design section I made mention of a level where I used a technique somewhat similiar to win.

I created another level according to the Minimilist guidelines called 5th Element. Weapons: 4 + Core 12 parts + 5 Switches + 2 Shields I used MD's core trick on this one. I chose the 4way2shot as the core weapon because it makes the usual missile dodging patterns harder to pull off. The missile laun...

Ya, it was old before even the first time imo. As long as there is no rotation and the core is open like the one I linked above then it can be beaten in the exact same way.

To this enlightenment we should add making weapons so tiny you can't find or destroy them.. like in this one: http://zetaflow.skylogic.ca/ZetaFlow.php?ID=3159 At least the core wasn't surrounded by shields or offscreen. I beat this one by staying close to the weaponfire to kept the shield up and got...

The first post should be edited to include links to all the levels I think, to make them easier to find.

Did you guys notice the not-so-minimalistic Minimalistic level that got uploaded a day or so ago? Its kinda obvious that the author doesn't know about the competition, or what it was meant for, lol.

I've experienced this as well when I went back to make edits to Four Corners. First I had to load the level in the editor, then hit the play button in there, then hit p for the pause menu and hit edit again. Then my ai commands would be present. It took several tries to figure out during which my le...
