Re: Survival design contest

I edited the original post a bit. Might even participate myself if I can form a complete level from my ideas.

Re: Suggestion: Damage Trigger

Why not just make the core layered? After first layer dies you can set a death trigger to do something etc.

Also I think the explosion and some part disappearing is a good sign that you've done something correct so it's less confusing if you don't have to try and think if something happened or not.

Re: Survival design contest (?)

Ah well... whatever... I just want to see some cool survival levels and I suck at making anything creative on my own :P I have soo many pieces of ideas on how to use this and make interesting survival levels but I can't build anything complete :/ Anyway, contest or not here's the code: AI_rotatePart...

Re: Survival design contest (?)

Follow ship + one HP parts. I'll give the AI and part code for the level to use as a template if we get the contest going.

Survival design contest

As there are at least a few who would participate I guess we have a contest. Theme : Survival level. You don't have to necessarily prevent the player from shooting (if you want to, there's a code in the thread), but survival levels should be based on time rather than the player shooting down parts, ...

Re: Old stuff: Sprite parts

That's what it should look like, there are no differences as far as I know. The green example just shows what happens as the speed increases. The cyan example shows that if correctly positioned the mirrored piece will make it look like it's not rotating at all.

Old stuff: Sprite parts

I don't think this has been covered clearly enough on the forum and also someone has asked about it in the comments of one of my levels so I decided to write it down. Click here for a new example level. The green example on the left is showing that rotation with speed 180 makes it possible to go thr...

Re: How to rotate random

I hope Sasadad doesn't mind me showing this :P I can delete if you do. It is not random rotation. Here 's what it looks like when it's not moving or rotating and also a comparison to a rotating one. The straight movement along the green crossing lines has been explained before on the forum here . Y...

One HP parts

I guess someone may have noticed this already, but I haven't seen anything about it so here goes. Well, you know you can add HP to a part by adding child parts to it. But how about reducing the HP? It would of course be easiest if it was implemented straight into the game but there is another way wh...

Re: Advent calendar 'n stuff

Yeah, it's nick and password. Though it doesn't matter if you don't delete your cookies it will stay till the end of December.

Could have been a problem with my Firefox, but I got like 20 new messages at once today in the RSS feed.

Advent calendar 'n stuff

Just noticed the RSS feed hasn't been working for ages and there's been a bunch of new forum posts :P I had thought the forum really was that dead. Some comments on my levels too (thanks for those) :) All of the ultimate defence levels still seem to be beatable, by the way. Anyways, if any of you ar...

Re: Amount of Lives

Maybe the whole "amount of lives" limit should be changed to some kind of par system. What I mean is that, instead of setting amount of lives, you set a goal amount of allowed deaths. If a player dies more than par then the goal is not achieved (maybe even set so that if the goal is not ac...

Re: What species of owl is this?

You should have read the comments: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Northern_White-faced_Owl
Stuff like that are always mentioned in the comments since many are asking about it.

Re: Need help making boss

Do you mean like this?
The top one shows how it looks like and the other one shows the hidden parts.
EDIT: Added forcefields to show connections.

If you want it to extend part by part it's a bit more complex.
EDIT2: Made an example of that one too.

Re: Idea! Collaborative Project

I don't think there are enough active people for something like this and I don't even start about if it's a good idea or not.

Anyway if you're going to try I'd suggest pastebin for the code editing.
