Hi there.

I am a new player to Zeta Flow, and have been playing around with the editor. I would love to get some feedback on the levels I have made so far.

Here is a partial list of what I have completed so far:

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Sure, here's some feedback. I've only designed two levels myself, but I've played well over half the levels out there so I think I have a pretty good standard of comparison. I'm only going to talk about the three levels you linked, because they're the only three of yours I've played so far.

"First Redsatori attempt" is a pretty good start. It's not the best looking level in the world but it's not ugly either, and anyway looks are less important than playability. This level is relatively quick and easy, but setting the AI to follow the ship is a good idea and makes it more of a challenge than it would be otherwise. The boss isn't so large that having it follow the ship will crush the player into the wall with no escape. I liked the forcefield and trigger. I'd maybe add some more guns, and a rotating part or two, but this is a better first attempt than many I've seen.

"Redsatori - second coming" is also a pretty good level. I liked that many of the guns rotated to the ship, and because of that, it was a good decision not to make the whole boss follow the ship. You could have done that, and it would have made the level more challenging, but it was already challenging enough with that multi-layered turret being the only possible target at first. It's also good that you didn't just copy your first level and make a few changes, but went with a whole new design. The rapid-fire core gun was a bit of a surprise, but it makes sense to use it since by the time all the other parts of the boss were shot off, the core wasn't going to last much longer. Had the level been much larger, the rapid-fire gun might have been a pain in the neck, but it was OK here.

"Redsatori - Spincycle" was a large step up in difficulty; it actually took me two tries to beat it. It's a nice design, though, with unpredictable rotation to make it interesting. If you had made the lasers harder to get at, I would have said this level was too difficult, but being able to shoot off those pesky lasers was a good feeling and made the level much more survivable. If I were making this level, I would have taken one layer off of each of the stacks of circles, or maybe added a life. I'm glad you didn't use the rapid-fire core gun here; that would have been a bit much. I think this level is grossly underrated, but I'm guessing that was because people didn't like the difficulty.

One of these days I need to get around to making the levels I've been thinking about. My first two are there if you want to take a look, though, just sort by username.

Thanks for the feedback, swartzer. I'm glad you liked Spin Cycle, and I think you are correct that the difficulty factor has played a major role in determining it's rating. I tried to make a new one that was a bit easier, however, it ended up being much more difficult and has since been deleted. I will definitely take some of your advice in kind on the next version of Spin Cycle.

Also, I played your two levels. They are very good, tho I cannot for the life of me beat Mitre. And the other one took all my lives to beat it, so well played.

Finally...

Well, I finally got a forum account. Yay.

Considering I'd also like some feedback on my levels, I'll post my list here. Don't be alarmed if some suck (too easy or hard) because I can guarantee that they all are beatable. I've done so.

there ya go. All of mine as of yet. Some are pitifully meant for those who can't kill FortressCore (what the hell?), and some are meant for those who can kill Mechragon. Good luck - I gave you PLENTY of lives for the most part.
