Tip: Video Capture

Hi everyone,
Just noticed this freebie program on Give Away of the Day: http://www.giveawayoftheday.com/1avcapture/

I haven't had a chance yet to try it out, but it could be useful for recording ZF movies! There are of course freeware programs that do the same thing but chances are that a paid program ought to be better.

Thanks for the tip MD. I'll check it out and post a comment later.

I checked it out but was not able to find any user reviews. All the reviews I read were just copied from the software designers website. Be aware that the program may be free for 21 days and then require registering. I am interested in a good, easy to use program that does audio and video and have looked into them at CNET before. There are a lot to chose from and the prices vary widely.

If anyone does download this and give it a try, I'd be very interested to hear your review posted on YouTube :-)

Oh btw, it wasn't a 21 day trial. It was a free fully licensed version. But they only gave it away that one day. That's how Give Away of the Day works. I downloaded the full deal that day...so feel free to pm me if you want...

I don't know as I missed the instal date. But I am attempting to find a software for screen recording....

Here's software that does sort of the exact opposite. It would allow you to play the ZF movie you captured and extract a single frame or a series of frames from it. I think that would be easier than trying to grab a screenshot in realtime.

Please note that It is only available for one day, so if you're interested, you need to grab it today.

There is another one being offered today asdasdg:

I'd suggest that you either bookmark http://www.giveawayoftheday.com or add it to your RSS feed. They offer stuff like this at least a few times a year.

Got it. :)

But, it just caused my computer to overheat.... maybe something that is not so taxing to the CPU would be more appropriate.

They're offering the same program that MD originally posted.

Keep in mind that it is only being offered free today:

I've had the best results recording anything with Fraps.
It can hook directly to most games and applications (and Vista/Win7 DWM) as long as they're hardware accelerated and will record VERY good quality at high FPS.
But it's not free.
There is however an open source alternative, but I haven't used it yet so I don't know if it's any good, at least you'll have to get your own codecs somewhere since the default one isn't too nice.
Perhaps when the hardware accelerated versions of browsers come out it'll be easier to record ZetaFlow too.

EDIT: Also, stumbled upon this while looking for some information about Taksi. Looks pretty neat :P (Though it can't replicate the Aero glass effect but alpha-transparent PNGs get you far enough too).
