Well, I've now beaten this twice, and each time I came back to find my login had expired or something, so my name wasn't listed. Note there's four wins now, though. I'm not going to try it again. Thanks for the useful technique though, crusher!
Maybe I don't know what auto mode means. I was talking about locking the mouse button down to keep firing... oh wait, I think I just answered my own question: you used the default control mode and just locked your mouse down at that point, right? I use KB move and mouse aim, so that wouldn't have occurred to me. Going to switch modes and try it now.
1. try taking out right lazer 2. place in auto mode just below middle right stream of bullets, about half way, or closer to the egde 3. go visit family / friends. Be prepared to sacrifice many of your brave warriors :)
I can get into an autoshoot sweet spot at the very start by quickly moving close enough to the boss that I'm inside the rockets turn radius, but within a few runs of the twinrapid core gun, I always die. After that it's impossible to get back to that spot because the rockets are all out on the screen and come and get you.
Autoshoot folks :-) shopping, dinner etc. adjust a couple of times. Don't want bad levels to be undefeated if it's doable, time used also tells people what to expect. would be an "ok" level with less rockets.
